Also conviniently estimates the METs value for whatever activity you're doing so you can more accurately see how much energy you're using. METs stands for METabolic equivalentS - a unit devised by the Japanese Ministry of Health - which indicates the relative exercise "intensity" of various activities. The higher the METs value the more intense the exercise, and the more calories are used for the same amount to time. For example, reading a book is 1.3 METs, normal walking is 3 METs and running is 15 METs.
